To list a house on Facebook Marketplace, open Marketplace, choose Create new listing, then Home for Sale or Rent, and fill in photos, price, beds, baths, address, and description.
Listing is free and must be done from a personal Facebook profile, not a business Page.
It takes 15 to 30 minutes by hand, or under a minute with ZillowLister Pro, which fills the form from a Zillow listing.
Listing a house on Facebook Marketplace is free, takes one form, and puts the
property in front of local buyers who message you directly. This guide walks
through the manual process field by field, then shows how to skip it.
Before you start
Use your personal Facebook profile. Marketplace property listings can’t be published from a business Page. Agents have been limited to personal profiles since January 2023.
Have the photos ready. Download them from your MLS or Zillow listing and put them in the order you want buyers to see.
Have the facts in front of you. Price, address, beds, baths, square footage, and for a rental: laundry, parking, air conditioning, heating, and the date it’s available.
Step by step
1. Open Marketplace and choose Create new listing. Pick Home for Sale or Rent.
2. Choose sale or rent, then the property type. House, apartment, townhouse, and so on. This decides which fields appear next.
3. Upload photos. Lead with the exterior, then kitchen, living area, primary bedroom, bathrooms, and yard.
4. Enter bedrooms, bathrooms, and price. Match your Zillow listing exactly. Buyers cross-check.
5. Enter the address. Marketplace uses it to show the listing to people browsing nearby.
6. Add square footage and the rental details. For a lease, fill in laundry type, parking, air conditioning, and heating. Renters check these before they message.
7. Write the description. Three or four short lines: what the home is, what’s close by, what’s been updated, and how to schedule a showing. Add your brokerage name as your state requires.
8. Review and publish. Replies come to you through Messenger.
The finished Marketplace listing — every field filled automatically and your branded banner on the photos, ready to publish.
Tips that get more messages
Fill every field. Listings with blanks drop out of filtered searches.
Answer quickly. Buyers message several listings at once and book with whoever replies first.
Describe the property, not the person. Fair housing law applies to every Marketplace post.
Keep it current. Update the price when it changes and take the listing down when the home sells.
How long it takes
Done by hand, one listing takes 15–30 minutes, most of it downloading
and re-uploading photos and retyping details that already exist on your Zillow
listing. Multiply that by every listing, every price change, and every relist.
The one-click way
ZillowLister Pro is a Chrome extension that does steps 1
through 8 for you. Open the property on Zillow, click once, and it reads the
photos and details from the page, fills every Marketplace field, and confirms
the listing through your own Facebook profile in under a minute.
Auto Pilot posts up to 7 houses with a single click, and the same
listing can go to Instagram and TikTok. See
